Ramona Pearl (Hawkes) Booth

Ramona Pearl Hawkes Booth, 82 died Wednesday, May 4, 2022.  A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Kathleen A. Hawkes.  She is preceded in death by her husband, C. Talmadge Booth, sisters, LaCena Hooper and Patsy Adams, brother Franklin Hawkes and nephew Travis Hooper.

She held degrees from the University of Georgia and Florida State University.  She retired from the Madison County School system, where she held positions of teacher, curriculum director, media specialist and assistant principal.  She was a life-long active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Neese, where she served in many roles.  She had a great love of helping others.  She spent countless hours serving her church and community with many organizations including Madison County Retired Educators, the Athens Regional and Madison County Library Boards, American Cancer Society, T&J and Friends Cancer Foundation, Sarepta Baptist Association, and others.  She is survived by her children, Melody Kesler and Jason Booth of Hull and 3 grandsons, Bo Gannon, Burke Booth and Grayson Kesler along with many friends and extended family. Lord and Stephens Danielsville is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Services will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Neese on Saturday, May 7 ^th at 11:00 am. The visitation will be held Friday, May 6 ^th from 6-8 pm at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
