Athens - Ralph David Jackson, 56, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Lord & Stephens, East, with Rev. Darrly Mathis officiating. Burial will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
Born in Whitfield County, Ga., he was the son of the late Ralph Jackson of Chatsworth, Ga. He was a store manager with Eckerd Drug Stores for 23 years. He was a member of Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church in Dalton, Ga. He was a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his sons, Tim Jackson and Christopher Jackson, both of Athens, Ga.; wife of 28 years, Chris Jackson of Athens; two grandchildren, Sidney and Savannah; mother, Alberta Cross Jackson; and sister, Wilma Mae Moon of Chatsworth, Ga.
The family will receive friends and family Wednesday from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
