Ralph Clinton Almond, Sr., 94, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Born in Commerce, GA, Mr. Almond lived all of his life in the Athens area and was the son of the late Carey Mercer Almond and Bessie Chandler Almond and brother to the late Chandler Almond and Louise Copeland. He retired from Dick Fergusons Men's Clothing Store as the store manager after 50 years. He was a member of Cleveland Road Baptist Church and served in the US Army during WWII. Survivors include his wife, Dot Almond of the home, son and daughter in law: R. Clint and Sarah Almond of Winterville; brother and sister in law: William Tip and Marty Almond of Athens. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Magnolia Estate for their help and support and also to the ladies of Personal Care Service for their love and compassion during Ralph's final days.
