Rachel McKnight Chandler

Rachel McKnight Chandler stepped into eternity to be with Jesus on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.  She was born September 2, 1941, in Kansas City, Kansas, and grew up in many midwestern states.  She attended Pillsbury College and Tennessee Temple College.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. F.W. McKnight and Elnora Stover McKnight, her daughter, Lisa Jolinn Chandler, and her sister, Nora Ann McKnight Jones.

Rachel loved her career at UGA and retired from the School of Music there in 1992.  She taught piano lessons for over 30 years, and served as pianist and organist in numerous churches.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Paul H. Chandler, daughter Audrey Garner, son-in-law Mark Garner, and two grandsons, Nathan and Sam Garner; sisters Connie McKnight Cloud and Dr. Carolyn McKnight; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Lord and Stephens, EAST with service to follow. Burial will be at Calvary Baptist Cemetery following service.

All attendees are encouraged to wear red and black in tribute to Rachel. Masks are optional.
