Rachel Carr

Rachel M. Carr, 74, of Athens, died July 12, 2015.
Born in Milan, GA, she was the daughter of the late Tommy B. and Beatrice Shumate Mills. An Athens resident since 1973, Rachel formerly worked with the YWCO Day Care. She was a member of East Athens Baptist Church and the Sisters Sunday School Class. Rachel was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by many.
Survivors include her husband, Wendell H. Carr; son, Jeffrey Wendell Carr (Margo) of Monroe; grandchildren, Jared Carr and Megan Carr.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST with Revs. Ray Wuerzer and Jack Segars officiating. Private burial will follow.
Members of the East Athens Baptist Church Sisters Sunday School Class will be honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society for Leukemia Research.
