Mr. R.E. Butler, age 79, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2006.
He was born May 8, 1927 in Olgethorpe County to the late Paul and Clara Little Butler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Butler. He was a retired carpenter, a member of Temple United Methodist Church and a member of the Wolfskin Vol. Fire Dept.
Survivors include a daughter, Gloria (Tim) Brown of Royston, a step-daughter, Dolores Scoggins of Elberton. Five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Temple UMC Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth L. Rosser officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 18, 2006 from 7 till 9 pm at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens - Crawford is in charge of the arrangements.
