Winterville - Postell T. Lovern, 84, died Monday, May 15, 2006.
A lifelong resident of this area, he was the son of the late David and Mary Smith Lovern and the widower of Inez Lovern.
He was retired from the University of Georgia, a WW II U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Civitan Club and a member and deacon of Edwards Chapel Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006 in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home WEST with Revs. Clark Ivey and Jack Segars officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include his daughter, Vivian Lovern; brother and wife, Hershel Lovern (Thelma); sister-in-law, Polly Lovern; brothers-in-law and spouse, James Dobbs,Ray Dobbs, Troy Dobbs (Juanita), and Garnett Llewallyn (Bernice).
Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School Class at Edwards Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Flowers accepted or donations may be made to Edwards Chapel Baptist Church.
