Phyllis Vivian Cook Marshall Buss, born April 12, 1921 in Alexandria, Indiana, passed away at her home in Colbert on May 18, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Delbert Cook and Flora Barnett Cook Wright and her sisters and brothers: Dicy Perry, Ross Cook, Glen Cook, Mable Spalding, Audia Stevens, Jessie Catron, Mary Cook, and Jim Cook as well as her husbands, Frank Marshall and Robert Buss.
Phyllis has four children Mary (Sam) Cummins, Joe (Katie) Marshall, Susan (Danny) Kelley and Betsy Marshall (Farley Gordon). She has 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and her loving cat, Samantha.
Phyllis belonged to the Rebecca lodge and Past Grand Nobel. She was a long-time volunteer for the Red Cross and domestic violence chapter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to local domestic violence chapters or your favorite charity.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 pm until service time.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, GA is in charge of arrangements.
