Bishop, GA - Philip Rice, 60, passed away October 27, 2008.
Born in Chattanooga, TN, he was a son of Rev. Durell and Helen Rice of Watkinsville. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and retired from the United States Postal Service after thirty-nine years. Mr. Rice attended Beech Haven Baptist Church for the last fifteen years.
Funeral services were Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST with Rev. Curtis Murdock officiating. Interment was in Farmington Cemetery with military honors.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Hannah Johnson Rice; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Ryan Chandler of Statham and Jessica and Scott Camp of Dunwoody; brothers and sister-in-law, Len and Kellay Rice of Watkinsville, David Rice of Athens; sisters and brother-in-law, Ann Rice of Watkinsville, Miriam and Roy Swain of Smyrna; three grandchildren, Jake Chandler, Kendall Camp and Coleman Camp; ten nieces and nephews.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
