Perry G. Aycock

Perry G. Aycock, 72, of Watkinsville passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015. Born June 18, 1943, he was a life-long resident of Oconee County and a member of Ray's United Methodist Church. Perry was the son of the late Melvin and Beatrice Aycock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Nelson Aycock. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Patsy Lanier Aycock, his children Scott (Amy) Aycock and Christy (Jerry) Wehunt, all of Watkinsville. Grandchildren are Camden and Ashton Aycock and Brayden Wehunt. Siblings include Sylvia (Edward) Greer of Yorba Linda, CA, Brenda (Keith) Douce of Tifton, GA, and a sister-in-law, Agnes Aycock of Winder, GA and many nieces and nephews.
Perry served with valor in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 through 1968 and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal while in combat in Vietnam. He was employed by Callaway Gardens and Constandine Construction before he formed and operated his own business, Perry Aycock Construction, for over 25 years earning the reputation of being a master builder. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend to all he knew.
A celebration of Mr. Aycock's life will be held Tuesday, November 10 at 2:00 at the chapel of Lord and Stephens West Funeral Home. Pallbearers include Chuck Aycock, Travis Douce, Wayne Savage, Jimmy Savage, Chris Dodd, Trey Aycock, James Sosbee, and Brian Boles. Honorary pallbearers will be Camden and Ashton Aycock, Brayden Wehunt, and Harry Willoughby. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive family and friends from 6-8, Monday, November 9 at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens West, Watkinsville, is in charge of arrangements.
