Peggy L. Barrow

Peggy L. Barrow, cherished wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the age of 75.

Born and raised in Farmington, Peggy worked as a telephone operator for AT&T and retired after more than 32 years. She was an avid collector of bells and most importantly, she cherished her family. Her face would light up with a smile every time her children and especially grandchildren were around. Peggy had a deep rooted faith in her Lord and savior Jesus Christ and she showed his love to everyone she came in contact with. She was a kind and gentle person and would help anyone she could even if it meant she went without. She was a faithful member at Elder Road Baptist Church at her passing.

Peggy is survived by Richard Ralph Barrow Sr. her devoted husband of 46 years; son Toby and wife Donna Houseman, son Ricky and wife Tabatha Barrow, daughter Penny and husband Timothy Carithers; grandchildren Dr. Justin Houseman, Kayla Houseman, Trinity Carithers, Paisley Carithers, Kathlean Barrow, Titus Carithers, Piper Carithers, Juda Carithers, Brantley Barrow, Parker Barrow; siblings Joe Houseman, Gene Houseman, Mary Linda Criswell and a host of extended family.

Peggy was the daughter of the late C.E. and Nellie Houseman and she was preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas Houseman, Edward Houseman, Bill Houseman and Elizabeth Bell.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, West.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 25, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Elder Road Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
