Pearl (Palmer) Thaxton

Pearl Palmer Thaxton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, surround by her family. Born in Oglethorpe County, Georgia, on October 20, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Laura Mae Skelton Palmer. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Robert Carl Thaxton and granddaughter, Carla Thaxton Brown. Mrs. Thaxton was a beloved mother and grandmother who enjoyed a large vegetable garden and many beautiful flowers. She was always an example of outstanding work ethic, industriousness and homemaking. Her greatest love was for her family. Survivors include two son: Robert Lee Thaxton (Beth) and Thomas Carl Thaxton (Fran); grandchildren: Jason Thaxton (Libby), Elise Kusiak (Scott), Charlotte Welch (Bob); great grandchildren: Heather Thaxton, Ethan Thaxton, Audrey Thaxton, Zack Kusiak, Jackson Kusiak, Regan Kusiak, Joshua Carstens (Brittany), Bobbie Welch and Tabatha Welch and one great great granddaughter Harley. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 19, 2016 at 3PM at Thaxton Wynne Cemetery with Rev. Rod Walls officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Thursday at the funeral home.
