Born in Madison County , Mrs. Wood had been a resident of Athens since 1959, she was daughter of the late Robert "Bob" Watkins and Pearl Adams Watkins. She was a was a homemaker.
Graveside services will be held Friday, April 16, 2010 at 3PM at Evergreen Memorial Gardens . The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the funeral home.
In addition to her husband of 65 years, John, survivors include; son: Curran G. Wood of Nicholson, GA; daughter: Shirley Macomson of Carnesville, GA; sister: Sue Dean of Athens, GA; grandchildren: Matt Wood, Andy Wood, Brian Wood, Jeffrey Moore and Amy Moore; three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and special niece, Molly Mathis.
