Winterville - Paul Joseph Frey, 82, died Friday, December 11, 2009 at his residence.
A native of Lawrence, Neb., he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Lienert Frey. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois and retired in 1986 from the EPA as a Fisheries Biologist. He was a parishioner of the UGA Catholic Center and served our country as a Merchant Marine during WWII and during the Korean Conflict while serving in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Sophia Reiter, Jose Erndle and Ann Battaglia and two brothers, Ed Frey and Phil Frey.
Graveside service will be Monday, December 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Frey Family Cemetery, 39 Peacock Lane, Winterville, Ga., the residence of Paul and Carol Frey. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 13, 2009 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the residence.
Survivors include his wife, Carol H. Frey; children and their spouses, Sep and Tina Frey of Colbert, Missy and Billy Pittard of Winterville, Tom and Kimberly Frey of Winterville, Tim and Debbie Frey of Winterville, Tess and Bryan Vaughn of Athens; sisters, Rose Simpson of Columbia, Ill., Pat Glauber of Waterloo, Ill., Kaye Rickert of Leheigh Acers, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, Adam, Serah, Eric and his wife, Karen, Alix, Kyle, J.T., Emily, Dawson, Caleb, Ellie, Abbey, McKinzie, Eli, Gwennie and Kendall.
Flowers will be accepted and the family requests that they be outdoor plants, flowers or bulbs.
