Paul Erford Barrick, 59, died February 2, 2017.
Born in Allegheny County, PA, he was the son of the late Frances May Shine Barrick,, the late Raymond Erford Barrick and step-mother Eleanor Barrick. Known as "The Kirby-Man", in Covington, GA where he spent much of his adult life, he was an avid outdoorsman. His favorite pass-times included tending his vegetable gardens, camping with his family, caving, river-rafting, and swimming. He was a lover of music, spending much of his time plucking away at his guitar which he learned to play entirely by ear. Blues Travelers was his favorite band, but he loved all blues and southern rock music. He was an artist, a gourmet chef, an avid reader, and an amazing handyman
Survivors include his ex-wife, Tina Barrick of Covington; his son Josef H.E. Barrick (Katie) of Acworth; his daughter Elizabeth N. Barrick of Covington; his brothers, Josef (Silvia), David (Deanna), Matthew, Daniel (Cel); his sister, Raechel Crumley (Steve); 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
Memorial Services will be Friday, February 3, 2017 at 12 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel in Watkinsville, GA, with the Rev Daniel Barrick officiating.
His ashes will be used to plant a tree at Pigeon Mountain Campground in LaFayette, GA on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the campground that he and his family used every year.
