Patsy M. (Martin) LaFontaine

Patsy LaFontaine, age 76 of Athens, GA, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Mike Pope Martin and Zilla Mae Chambers Martin Borders; brothers, Mike, Terry and Garland Martin; daughter-in-law, Shawna Le Plyler and nieces Tracie and Kim Myers. She is survived by her husband,  Gerald LaFontaine; son, Dwight M. Plyler of Lufkin, TX; son, Donald G. Plyler of Stockbridge, GA; stepson and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Julie LaFontaine of Lithia Springs, GA; sister, Marty Cox of Hartwell, GA; sister, Annie Lucille Meyer of Winterville, GA; brother, Miles Martin of Winterville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and David Martin of Athens, GA; 6 grandchildren Patrick Hall, Brittney Hillary, C.J. Plyler, Kristofer Plyler, A. Zachary Plyler and Elijah Plyler and 4 great-grandchildren Dezarea Beatty, Riley Hillary, Evan Hall, and Lilian Grace Anne Plyler.

Patsy worked for many years as a registered nurse. She had a bachelors degree from Augusta College and a masters degree in education from The University of Georgia, where she graduated Cum Laude. She worked as a nurse for UGA and was of the Christian faith. Patsy will be missed by all dearly and services will be at a later date.
