Patsy (Dixon) Blalock

June 22, 1947 — April 28, 2013

Patsy Dixon Blalock, age 65, of Colbert, died on Sunday, April 28, 2013.
A native of Athens, Patsy was the daughter of the late George Buford Dixon and Lillian Dillard Dixon, and the oldest of five children. Her siblings include Frank E. Dixon, of Augusta, and the late LaRue Carter, the late Billy Dixon, and the late Vickie Mauldin.
Patsy worked for nearly 25 years at SunTrust Bank, in Athens. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church, in Commerce, where she participated in the choir.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Willard Daniel "Buzzie" Blalock; son, Andy Hoyt Blalock, of Colbert; daughter, LeAnne Blalock DeFrancesco, of Alexandria, Va.; and grandchildren, Andrew Blalock, of Arnoldsville, Alexis Krause, of Winterville, and Robby and Emma DeFrancesco, of Alexandria, Va.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, in Danielsville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, in the chapel at Lord & Stephens Danielsville, with burial following at Evergreen Memorial Park, in Athens.
The Revs. Grady Jordan, Stuart Lang, and Terry James will officiate. Pallbearers include Mike Carithers, David Garrison, Dale Ledford, Ronnie Ray, Leon Smallwood, and Jason Tyner.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the Berea Baptist Church choir or the Loran C. Smith Cancer Center, in Athens.
