Patrick Andrew Tocher, 79, retired United States Army colonel and former Sequim resident, passed away on October 3, 2013. Pat recently resided in Bogart, Georgia.
Pat was born to the late James and Mary Kelly Tocher on October 25, 1933, in Livingston, Montana.
He graduated from Park County High School in 1952 and received his undergraduate and law degrees from Gonzaga University.
Pat married Carol Clendenin, also of Livingston, in 1958.
Pat served 28 years in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, retiring in 1986. After years of military travel, the "Colonel" and Carol retired to Sequim.
Pat was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol; as well as his siblings, Fran Vicars, James "Bud" Tocher, Deane Appleby, Betty Jenkins, Margaret Cunningham and LaVerne Brunmeir.
During his distinguished military career, Pat worked as a legislative liaison to Senator Henry "Scoop" Jackson, was awarded the Bronze Star for service in Vietnam and served as staff judge advocate at U.S. Army Forces Command Headquarters at Fort McPherson, among other achievements.
Before his health declined, Pat was an active member in the Footprinters Club and the Sequim Elks Lodge.
Pat is survived by three children, Tim (Connie) Tocher of Springdale, Arkansas, Jeff Tocher of Port Angeles and Maureen (Mike) Kraft of Bogart. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Kelly and Evan Kraft.
Pat will be missed for his enduring wit and wisdom.
A memorial service will take place in Sequim on Friday, October 25, location to be announced.
