Patricia A. Yoder, 86, wife of the late Harry W. Yoder, Jr., passed away peacefully the morning of January 2, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospice House in Athens, GA.
Pat was born October 10, 1928 in Mount Morris, Illinois to Harold Stevens Middlekauff and Virgie Marie Highbarger Middlekauff. She grew up at Maple Lawn Farm, attended Stonebraker School and graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1946.
She married a high school classmate, Harry W. Yoder, Jr. on August 12, 1950 in their hometown of Mount Morris. Pat worked as a secretary until 1954 while Harry pursued his professional degrees. After the birth of their first child, Pat became a full time and devoted homemaker. She had a life-long interest in bird-watching, native plants and helping her husband, Harry with his numerous hobbies and pastimes.
For 50 years Pat resided in Athens, GA. She moved to Highland Hills Assisted Living in 2011, where she loved the staff, the residents, the meals and the activities.
Pat is survived by children, Gregory T. Yoder and wife, Ashley Simpson, Janet M. Yoder and Michael F. Yoder and Greg and Ashley's children, Thomas S. Yoder and Sarah A. Yoder. She is also survived by a sister, Louise Yoder of Babbit, Minnesota.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Lord and Stephens East on Lexington Road.
