Patricia Dian "Pat" (Fortson) Maxey

Pat Maxey, 68, of Colbert passed away, February 10, 2017.
Born in Athens, she was the daughter of Dallas Edward Fortson of Danburg, GA and the late Rachael Kincaid Fortson. She retired from Athens Regional Medical Center after 27 years and had attended Joy Baptist Church. Affectionally know as "Memaw", Pat enjoyed working in her yard, the beach, spending time with family and cooking. Her favorite holiday was July 4th and will be remembered as a kind, loving and sweet spirited person.
In addition to her father, survivors include her fiancé Roy Nunnally of Colbert, children: Rene (Tod) Wilson of Colbert, Rodney (Tracey) Rogers of Hull; brother: Robert (Freida) Fortson of Danburg, GA; grandchildren: Mallory Dean, Noah Rogers and Kendall Rogers. She was also known as Memaw by, Kenn, Sasha, Vanessa, Veronica, Claire, Matt, Grooms and Lily.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Barry Black officiating. Interment will follow at Colbert Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Saturday, February 11, 2017.
