Patricia Ann Lovell was born on January 20, 1940 to Don McClain and Judy Fry McClain in Clovis, New Mexico and died on January 20, 2021. Pat was raised in Clarkesville, Georgia, marrying her high school sweetheart, David, in 1959. David and Pat moved to Watkinsville, Georgia where they worked and raised their family. Pat enjoyed working as the secretary at Oconee County High School where she retired after a great number of years. After retirement, she spent her time volunteering at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Throughout her life, Pat truly cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was especially famous among them for her pancakes, grilled cheese sandwiches, chocolate pies, and banana pudding. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who was treasured by her entire family.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, David Lovell; brother Dwight (June) McClain; daughters Angie (Billy) Burrell and Pam (David) Dennard; grandchildren Brad (Aleisha) Burrell, Brent (Erica) Burrell, Lauren (Todd) Carlson, Lindsey (Jared) Grant, and Brian Dennard; and 9 great grandchildren. She was well loved and will be missed by many.
Due to COVID-19, there will be no family visitation. However, extended family and friends are invited to pay their respects and sign the guest register on Saturday, January 23, 2021, between the hours of 10:00am - 1:30pm at Oconee Chapel, 2370 Hog Mountain Road, Watkinsville, GA. Masks will be required inside the building. A private service will be held for family.
In remembrance of Pat's life, the family asks that a charitable donation be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
