Patience Hale

Winterville - Patience McRee Hale, 92, died May 21, 2011. A native of Farmington, she was a daughter of the late Cornelia Wood and L. McRee. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wilburn Pete McRee, and sister, Mary Ruth McRee, and also preceded in death by H. Edgar Wood, Taylor Wood and Gennie Wood. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 23, at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST, Athens. Interment will be in Winterville Cemetery. Survivors include; her daughter, Lynn Hale (Donald) Hockaday of Woodford, Va.; two grandchildren, Donald Wesley Hockaday and Patrick Richard (Teresa) Hockaday. Pallbearers will be Dale Wood, Donald Wood, Walter Wood, Ted Holladay, Randy Wood, John Gray, Ray Whitfield and Bill Tolbert. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday for two hours prior to service time. Lord and Stephens, EAST, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
