Athens, GA - Ethelene (Pat) Davis, 79, died February 6, 2009.
A lifelong resident of Athens, she was the daughter of the late William Howell and Ernest Clark Bowen and was preceded in death by a brother, Willie Bowen and sister, Geraldine Bowen.
Mrs. Davis worked for Davison's for a number of years before founding Village Fashions, which she continued to own and operate for 21 years. She was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church where she was active with XYZ and the Joy Sunday School Class. She was very giving of her time, often visiting the sick. Mrs. Davis enjoyed her domino group, playing bridge and going to yard sales.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Davis; son, Steve Davis and his wife Denise of Muscle Shoals, AL; granddaughters, Whitney Davis and Brooke Davis of Tuscaloosa, AL; sisters, Christine Beck and Irene Thompson of Athens and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 3:30 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST with Rev. Bill Ricketts officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Stockton, Mark McKinnon, Rick Dover, Randy Dover, Glenn Townsend and Danny Rogers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 until 3:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
