Ovin J.M. Martin, 89, died Friday, September 21, 2012.
A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Will and Rosa Dixon Martin. He was also preceded in death by five sisters and one brother. Mr. Martin retired from Johnson & Johnson after 29 years. He was a member of Hull Baptist Church and served his country in the US Army during WWII with a medical detachment, 318 Station Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Brown Martin; children: Barbara (Lanier) Whitehead, Charles (June) Martin, Jackie (Terry) McElroy; sister: Vera Brewer, seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 3PM at Hull Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Burial will follow at Old Hull Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 on Saturday at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hull Baptist Church, Perpetual Care Cemetery Fund.
