Athens, GA - Otto William Balgemann, age 77, of Athens, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2008.
Bill was born to the late Carl and Bernice (McNichols) Balgemann on January 23, 1931, in Elmhurst, Illinois. Bill was a banker for 25 years and then worked for the U.S. Postal service for 8 years. He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dorothy (Hanson); son, Peter Balgemann (Janien), Elmhurst, Illinois; daughters, Jennifer Weis (John), Illinois and Heather Wepsiec (Michael) DeSota, Illinois; stepson, Doug Funk (Holly) Lyons, Illinois; and stepdaughter, Karen Bridges, Tallahassee, Florida; and daughter, Bonnie Cooper (Matthew) Comer, Georgia and 19 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Stephen Castle Balgemann and sister Carol Sroczynski.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 20, 2008 at 1PM at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. David Heller officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 2535 Jefferson Road, Athens, GA 30607.
