Oscar Taylor

Rev. Oscar Taylor, 96, husband of the late Lucille Taylor, when home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 11, 2016. Born in Habersham County , he was the son of the late Harris and Nellie Woodall Taylor and father to the late Jerry Lee Taylor and Harold Taylor and grandfather to the late Janet Johnson. Rev. Taylor retired from Callaway Farms and had Pastored Pentecost Chapel and Welcome Avenue Congregational Holiness Church. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and truly lived his life for the Lord. Survivors include his children: Betty (Calvin) Whittington of Colbert, Patsy (Herman) Nation of Colbert; brothers: Duncan Taylor of Lexington, William Taylor of Hull; sister: Henrietta Norman of Lexington; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Herman Nation and Rev. Butch Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Pentecost Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the funeral home.
