Edgar Oran Randall, 68, stepped into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 24, 2023. Oran was born in Franklin County on February 14, 1955 to King Oran Randall, Jr and Mary Lillian Faulkner Randall.
Oran graduated from Oconee County High School, Class of 1973. He began his career with Atlanta Dairies and later moved to Colonial Bread. Oran then transitioned to the linen business and spent almost 30 years servicing the Athens restaurant industry. The restrictions during the pandemic caused him to leave a community that he loved. He considered himself blessed to find a new family to love for the last 3 years while driving a truck for Athens Seed Company. He has been a member of Antioch Christian Church for 50 years, serving first as a deacon, then an Elder and also 2 terms as Chairman of the Board. He enjoyed playing church league softball in his younger years, singing in the choir, participating in church events, local and international missions. Oran was also a valued member of the Oconee County Fire Rescue, Station 5.
Oran will long be remembered for his contagious smile, generous spirit, and his kindness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James Randall, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Trudie Hardigree Giles, one sister-in-law, Judy Giles.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ginger Giles Randall and his precious dog, Henry. He also leaves behind 4 siblings: Connie Tippett, Robbie (Mike) Link, Loran (Donna) Randall, Randy (Stacey) Randall; three nieces: Michelle (James) Hale, Laura Randall, and Amberly Ford; three great nieces; Sarah Beth (Tray) Andrews, Makenzie Hale and Madison Hale; one great nephew: JW Hale; and one great, great niece: Zamirah Andrews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 5-8pm at Lord and Stephens West. The funeral service will be Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Antioch Christian Church at 11am. Interment will follow in the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery.
