O'aSha Takaisha Forshee, 31, born in Charleston, TN, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at her residence in Athens, Ga.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marley Forshee; her brother, JaMichael Parks; her grandfather, the Rev. Paul McCleary; and grandmother, Irene Parks.
O'aSha graduated in 2004 from Walker Valley High School in Charleston, TN, where she played point guard on the State Championship runner up basketball team. In addition, she also excelled in AAU basketball and received multiple awards for her athletic prowess.
She loved reading, music, going to local concerts with Cameron, enjoyed watching Malik & Mason play sports, and she loved her family. She LOVED singing and dancing with her boys! O'aSha's other passions included softball, Georgia football & Georgia Men's & Women's basketball. She was well known and loved by her customers while working over the years at Rafferty's as a waitress and as a manager at RaceTrac on Atlanta Hwy. She was appreciative of her new work family at JR Crickets until her illness. She enjoyed and was supported by her Cornerstone Church Bible Study family, which meant a lot to her as she battled her illness.
She is survived by her husband, Cameron Forshee; two children, Cameron Malik and Terry Mason Forshee, all of Athens, Ga.; her mother, Paula Parks of Charleston; her father, Ronald Parks of Cleveland; sister, Diamond Thompson of Cleveland; and grandmother, Purnella McCleary of Charleston; aunts, Patrice Boyd (Kenneth) of Charleston, Paige (Kelvin Sr.) Wells of Riceville, Judy Parks of Cleveland; one uncle, Donald (Melissa) Parks of Benton; she was blessed with her special mother and father-in-law, Terry and Angela Forshee; her brother in-law, Brent (Heather) Forshee; sisters-in-law, Cara Forshee & brother-in-law Tony Williams all of Cleveland, and Whitney (Jesse) Taylor of Ooltewah; her nieces, Loyalty and Sincere Thompson, Kinsley Forshee, Emberlee Taylor; nephews, Kyzil, Kiyan, and Kash Williams; Easton & Jenson Taylor: special cousins, Kenneth and Danessa Boyd, Kelvin Wells Jr., Desmond, Donald and Tabitha Parks; Kenish McCleary and Bryant McDermott; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to express a special appreciation to Ludlow Lawson and the University of Georgia Athletic Association family for their extraordinary outreach and support of Cameron and his family. We would also like to thank Whitehead Road Elementary School staff and classmates for their understanding and support of Malik and Mason during this time.
After a service in Cleveland, TN the family will receive friends at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home on Lexington Hwy on Wednesday December 19, 2017 from 5-7 PM. O'aSha will be laid to rest in Athens Memory Gardens in a private service on Thursday December 20 at 11 AM with the Rev. Steve Stringham of Cornerstone Church officiating.
