Lexington, GA - Oscar David Scarborough, 91, died January 10, 2007.
A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late Mary Noell and Earl B. Scarborough, Sr. He was owner and operator of Lexington Television and Radio Service for many years and was the mayor of Lexington for fifteen years. Mr. Scarborough was a longtime member and deacon of Lexington Baptist Church, as well as Sunday School Superintendent.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 13, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Lexington Baptist Church. Revs. Harry Warren and Jim Waller will officiate. Interment will be in Clark Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Marie B. Scarborough; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Jere Dellinger of Crawford, and Joyce and Gayle Vivian of Conyers, GA; brother, Earl Scarborough of Crawford; sister, Rosalind Allen of Crawford; six grandchildren, David Dellinger, Chris Dellinger, Bryan Dellinger, Eric Dellinger, Shane Vivian and Shae Kim; nine great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home
Lord and Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
