Norman Eugene Ansley III “Chip”, 63 passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021. Born on May 7, 1957 in Atlanta, Georgia, he was the son of Barbara Wilder Johnson and the late Norman Eugene Ansley II.
Chip never met a stranger and was liked by everyone. He enjoyed playing golf, going to the beach, telling jokes and spending time with his family and two dogs, Tiki and Mila. He was a United States Army veteran and spent 12 years working for Cork & Bottle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Eugene Ansley II; his stepfather, Samuel M. Johnson “Bud” and his grandparents.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Deborah Ansley; sons, Kelsey (Jamie) Davis, Jeremy (Tracy) Davis; mother, Barbara Wilder Johnson; grandchildren, David (Alaytra) Davis, Larry Davis, Abygail (Jason) Garmon, Zachary (Brooklyn) Davis, Colin (Lindsey) Davis; grandchildren, Kaloni Davis, Willow Davis, Molly Garmon; sisters, Tracey (Don) Moore, Jennifer Johnson; nieces, Ansley Braxton, Hayes Thrasher, Sami Johnson; aunt, Dorothy “Dottie” Cunningham; cousins, Audrey Brown, Tina Watkins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens, with the family receiving friends two hours prior from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
