Nell Sosebee Shedd

Nell Sosebee Shedd, 82, died November 11, 2024. 

Born February 24, 1942, Mrs. Shedd was the daughter of the late Jack and Bernice Huntsinger Sosebee and the widow of Ronald Lee Shedd. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. 

Nell is survived by her children: sons Keith (Kim Fendya) Shedd of Acworth, Dale (Paree) Shedd of Athens, and daughter Karen (Mike) Nunn of Athens. Grandchildren Parissa Shedd Larsen (Sean) Athens, GA, Peyton Shedd Athens, GA, Christopher Nunn of Atlanta and Georgia Nunn of Athens. 

Nell devoted her early years to raising her three children as a stay-at-home mom. Later, she found fulfillment working at the UGA Bookstore, the UGA Ticket Office, and C& S Bank Athens. 

Her life was a testament to her love for God and her dedication and love to others. She had a warm, caring nature and always took the time to ask about the people in her life and their families, showing genuine interest and compassion. Nell embodied selflessness, always putting others before herself. Her smile was truly contagious, brightening every room.

Graveside services will be Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 4:00pm at Athens Memory Gardens with Rev. Ray Finger officiating 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wesley Woods of Athens/Talmadge Terrace.
