Winterville - Nell Boyd Giles, 80, wife of J.B. Giles, died Monday, November 05, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospice House.
A native of Hall County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Bertha Lackey Boyd. She was a member of Winterville First Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School. She had served as a volunteer for St. Judes Children Hospital as well as in her community always helping others. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors in addition to her husband, include two sons: Blake Giles of Athens, Bill Giles of Las Cruces, NM; sisters: Lucille Rainey of Stone Mountain, GA, Sarah Skinner of Winder; brother: Frank Boyd of Braselton; grandchildren: John Giles III of Suwanee, GA, Laura Garrett of Mt. Airy, GA and Emily Giles of Athens.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 2PM at Winterville First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Jim Akins officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Carter Center, Attn: Office of Development, One Copenhill, 453 Freedom Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30307.
