Nathaniel Scott Grider

Nathaniel (Nate) Grider passed into eternity April 25, 2023 in Athens, GA at the age of 34 after a hard-fought battle with complications from diabetes.
Born to Art and Mary Grider on September 29, 1988 in Gainesville, FL Nate was the life of any party. He lit up the room and brought love and laughter to many. He was a graduate of Oconee County High School, class of 2007 where he was known for his afro and his old Plymouth Voyager "Shrekzilla," and graduated from University of North Georgia in 2014. He was a comedian, a lifelong Gator fan, a movie and music aficionado, a purveyor of opinions on current events, and an artist whose wire sculptures and whittles adorn many of his friends and loved ones’ homes.
Nate is survived by his parents, Art and Mary; his brothers Josh (Bernie) Grider and Jonathan (Caroline) Grider; his niece and nephews Joséphine, Jude, and Benjamin Grider; and his long-time girlfriend, Brooke Santos. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Patricia White and Arthur and Carrie Grider.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 2 at Lord and Stephens, East Chapel at 2:30 p.m. with a reception to follow at Cahermee Farm, 1525 Robert Hardeman Rd, Winterville.
