Watkinsville, GA - Naomi Malueg passed away November 2, 2009.
A native of Greene County, Mississippi and a former resident of Laurel, Mississippi, she was a daughter of the late Mammie Triplett Boyston Griffin and J. J. Griffin. She was the widow of William J. Malueg, to whom she was married for sixty-six years. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas Griffin, Nannie Mae Griffin, Sarah Ball and Lloyd Griffin.
Mrs. Malueg and her husband lived in Columbus, GA where they were members for over forty years of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. Since 1998, they resided in Watkinsville and were members of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mrs. Malueg was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor David Heller officiating. Graveside services will be Monday, November 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Seale, AL.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sharron and Karl Derums of Pine Mountain Valley, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Brenda Malueg of Watkinsville, GA; grandchildren, Matthew Derums, Andrew and Jill Derums, Amanda Willis, Mark and Lauren Malueg; great grandchildren, Hannah Malueg, Julianne Derums, John Hunter Derums, Braxton Willis and Brice Willis.
Pallbearers will be Karl Derums, Andrew Derums, Matthew Derums, Mark Malueg, Dan Aamoth and Tom Watts.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
