Farmington - Nancy Shelton Carson, 66, wife of Donald P. Carson, died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Landmark Hospital.
A native of Madison, GA, she was the daughter of the late Willie E. Shelton and Lena M. Shelton of Farmington. She was a homemaker and with her husband was the owner and operator of Carson's Supermarket in Farmington. She was a member of Farmington United Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to her husband and mother include five children: Donna (Don) Carson Bradshaw, Deborah (Greg) Peck, Dana (Tripp) Edwards, Darlene (Richard) Rhines and Dawn Carson all of Farmington; brothers and sisters: Mary (James) Savage of Watkinsville, Rita Kinney, Jerry (Patrica) Shelton, Diane Crosby, David (Carol) Shelton all of Rutledge; step brother: Will Shelton of Atlanta; sisters in law: Cheryl (Mike) Thomason, Jeannie Ervin and Lynn Carson all of Farmington; grandchildren: Allen (Danielle) Peck, Clay Peck, Samantha Peck, Derek Edwards, Dylan Edwards, Daniel Edwards, Brady Rhines, Maddie Rhines; great grandchildren: Lacey Peck and Luke Peck.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 2PM at Farmington United Methodist Church with Revs. Hoyt Johnson and Eric Buffington officiating. Burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clay Peck, Allen Peck, Todd Huff, Rodney Huff, Chris Shelton, Charles Holbert, Chris Holbert, Greg Ervin, Ray Ervin, Jason Shelton, Lee Crosby, Jeffrey Crosby and Steve Ervin. Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Edwards, Dylan Edwards, Daniel Edwards, Brady Rhines, Maddie Rhines and Samantha Peck.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 6 to 8 at Lord & Stephens West Chapel.
Thanks so much for the wonderful care and love from Landmark Hospital, especially her wonderful nurse Lisa who became her special friend.
