Nancy Dean Bowman

Nancy Dean Bowman passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 18, 2012.
She was born March 29, 1931 in Chula, Georgia to Gladys Ellerbee and Albert David Dean. She was raised on a farm close to Tifton, GA, graduated from Tift County High School, attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and the University of Georgia, where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics Education. Loving wife and mother of five boys, she is survived by four sons; Dave Bowman of Millford, NJ, Jeff Bowman of Kansas City, MO, John Bowman of Statham,GA, Edward Bowman of Chicago,IL and ten grandchildren; Ben and Leslie Bowman from Houston,TX, Kelly Lawler from Westminster, MD, Shannon Bowman from Milford, NJ; Scott, Rebecca and Matthew Bowman from Chicago, IL, and Jacob, Chris and Katy Bowman from Greenville, NC. She is predeceased by her parents, Gladys Ellerbee and Albert David Dean, her husband, Ben C Bowman, her brother, Albert David Dean JR, her son, Robert Mark Bowman, and grandaughter, Karen Raines Bowman.
She loved cooking, playing bridge, collecting antique furniture and spending time with her family and friends. All who knew her loved her simplicity, warmth, and true southern charm. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
The viewing is scheduled from 5 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Lord and Stephens, WEST. The funeral will be 11 am on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 with the Rev. Bob Boehler officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Christian Church, Winder, GA.
The family has asked that memorial donations be made to St. Mary's Hospice House, 1660 Jennings Mill Road Bogart, GA 30622, or to the Winder First United Methodist Church Chancel Choir, 280 N Broad St
