Myrtle Jernigan Jones

Athens - Myrtle Jernigan Jones, 87, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011.
Born in Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late Charles Newman Jernigan and Estelle Wood Jernigan, and wife of the late Jerry Leonard Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of the Green Acres Garden Club for a number of years.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Margie and George Courtright, of Athens, and Jerrie A. and Cecil A. Smalley, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; grandchildren, Anson Smalley, of Tuscaloosa, and Aland Margie Yates, of LaGrange; great-grandsons, Aubrey Smalley, Harrison Smalley, and Quint Yates; and a devoted niece, Kerry Samford.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta.
