Myrtie Frances Baker "Grandma" Whitehead, 100, passed away October 12, 2005 following a short illness. She was born December 29, 1904 and was a lifelong resident of Madison County. She was the daughter of the late George Edward and Susie Eberhart Baker, and the widow of Harrison Whitehead. She was also preceded in death by two brotherS, Clarence and T. J. Baker. She was of the Pentecostal faith and attended New Hope Worship Center.
Funeral services were Saturday, October 15, 2005, at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, Danielsville. Revs. Chet Smith, James Woods, Dennis Kesler, and Grant Myerholtz officiated. Interment was in Colbert Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Buddy Scarborough of Colbert; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Mildred Baker also of Colbert; Grandchildren are Karen and Reid Christenberry of Oxford, OH, Karol Scarborough of Oakwood, GA, and Martha and Jeffery Glenn of Flowery Branch, GA. Great grandchildren are Krystal Simmons, Matthew and Jennifer Christenberry, Katrina and Stephen McCullar, Kevin Christenberry, Janine and Morgan Glenn, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Friday from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
