Myrtie S. Alewine, 96, died Sunday, March 1, 2009.
Due to the inclement weather and power outage at the funeral home, the visitation and funeral services for Mrs. Alewine have been revised to the following:
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, with Revs. Dayton Logan and Larry Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Alewine, Bo Alewine, Johnny Wood, Dale Bowles, Roger Alewine, Buck Alewine and Buddy Alewine. Visitation will be held, Tuesday, March 3, 2009, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
A native of Danielsville, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mae Chastain Scarborough. She was the wife of the late Floyd Alewine and mother to the late J.B. Alewine, Willie Alewine and Odell Alewine. Mrs. Alewine was a homemaker and member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Bud Alewine of Lexington; daughters, Carolyn Alewine of Athens, Janelle Whitlock of Center, Edna Crawford of Hull; 25 grandchildren and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted.
