Athens, GA - Myrl Horne Smith, 94, passed away January 6, 2013.
Born August 4, 1918 in Richland, GA, she was the daughter of the late Mary L. and W. Clyde Horne and widow of Marion L. Smith.
Mrs. Smith attended Georgia Southwestern College, Americus, GA; south Georgia College, Douglas, GA and Southern Business University, Atlanta, GA. She retired from Civil Service at Fort Benning, GA in June 1973. Mrs. Smith was a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees and Beech Haven Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son and wife, Clyde Wesley and Patricia G. Smith of Athens; granddaughter and husband, Rebecca Sshley SMith and Kenneth John Mullis of Knoxville, TN; grandson, John Wesley Smith of Athens; great grandson, Lawson Johyn Mullis of Knoxville, TN; brother and wife, Bill C. and Toni Horne of Ocean Isles, NC.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Crown Hill Cemetery, Albany, GA with Rev. Chip Gresham officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
