Myra Patterson Smith

Myra P. Smith, 83 of Hull, died Thursday, April 16, 2015. A native of Neese, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Lafayette Patterson and Evia Cornelia Patterson. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Lonnie Woods and Horace Smith; sons: Lonnie Lee Woods, Jr., Mylon Lee Woods, Terry William Allen; daughter: Elizabeth Ann Hill and grandsons: Joseph Lee Knapke and William Edsel Holt, Jr. Myra retired from Thornton Brothers Paper Company and was a longtime member of Whitehall Baptist Church where she played the piano. She was truly a great pianist and had played for George Beverly Shea who opened for Billy Graham. She was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan. Survivors include her children: Colette Woods of Hull, Linda Cartiledge of Commerce and Mike Woods of Colbert; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren and many niece and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Revs. Buford Lockman and Jonathan Branyon officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
