Myra Nell (Whitehead) Dickens

Myra Nell Dickens, 71, was born on December 1, 1951 to the late William F. “Bill” Whitehead and Edith Peck Whitehead.  Myra was a lifelong resident of Oconee County and Farmington, Georgia.  She died at home surrounded by her family on March 1, 2023.

Myra is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jimmy Roland Dickens, her sons: Heath Roland (Michelle) Dickens and Andrew William Dickens; brother: Byron (Barbara) Whitehead; grandchildren: Kaleb and Jace Dickens and one great granddaughter: Wrenliegh Dickens.

She was the first female Bailiff for the Oconee County Court House and she and her husband worked on their family farm. She was a member of Freeman Creek Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Farmington Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 253, Farmington, GA 30638.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11AM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel. Interment will follow at Farmington Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chuck Whitehead, Chuck Lee, Doug Dickens, Adam Whitehead, Chris Peck and Kaleb Dickens. The family will receive friends from 5PM until 7PM on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the funeral home.
