Murphy Stephen "Steve" White

Murphy Stephen “Steve” White, 78, of Eatonton, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 1:00pm. – 2:30pm., and the funeral service will held on the same day at 3pm in the chapel, both at Lord & Stephens East Funeral Home, 4355 Lexington Road, Athens, GA 30605.  Reverend Kathy Lamon will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Winterville Cemetery.

Steve was born June 15, 1944 to Gordon and Audrey White in Klondike, Georgia. He married Katherine Lenora “Kaylen” Warren on June 16, 1984. They were married for 38 years and had 4 wonderful children. Steve worked for Shepherd Construction Co. for 45 years as a construction superintendent before his retirement. After retirement, he started his own business as SAK Construction Co.  Steve’s hobbies included gardening, fishing, hunting, playing golf, and spending time with his family.

Steve was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Andrew White. He is survived by his wife, Kaylen White; sister, Blondine Hillis (Miller); sister, Linda Hammonds; sister, Ophelia Wall (Jimmy); son, Bryan White (Belinda); son, Kyle White (Jessica); son, Kevin Nix (Teresa). He leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Thank you to all our family and friends for your prayers, concerns, and support.
