Watkinsville, GA - Morton Appling Wise, 83, died July 21, 2007.
native of Oglethorpe County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Carl L. and Louise Hurt Appling, and was the widow of Clarence H. Wise. Mrs. Wise was a graduate of Meson Academy, Lexington, GA and Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. She resided in Cobb County for many years, where she spent more than eleven thousand hours as a volunteer with the Auxiliary at Cobb General Hospital, Austell, GA. She also served as the Northeast Georgia Region President of the Georgia Council of Auxiliaries. Mrs. Wise was active in Mars Hill Baptist Church and Sunday School.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 23, 2007, at 10:30 AM at Mars Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Jones officiating. Interment will be in Clark Cemetery, Lexington, GA.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Skip and Betti Wise of Sandersville, GA; brother, E. D. Appling of North Augusta, SC; two granddaughters, Laura Trimble and Kathie Davenport; seven great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
