Montine Deloris Ondracek

Montine Deloris Ondracek 91, of Watkinsville, Georgia passed away February 26, 2025. Montine was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Thomas Smith and Emily Thornton Smith; her husband of 70 years, Donald Crawford Ondracek; her siblings, Janice Chandler, Frederick Thomas Smith, Jerry Howard Smith and June Cox. Montine is survived by her children, Glenda Kay Ondracek, Kenneth Donald (Debora Powell) Ondracek, and Teresa Lynn Ondracek; her grandchildren; Nathanael T. Koster (Emily Bruflat), Samuelle Kay Koster (Marcuse Mangibin), Jonathan David Ondracek, and her great grandson, Patrick James (PJ) Mangibin.

Born and raised in Baker County, Georgia, Montine married Donald Crawford Ondracek in Albany, Georgia in April 1951 while he was stationed at Turner Air Force Base serving in the United States Air Force. Montine excelled throughout her life supporting, maintaining and loving her family. She was an active volunteer in the community and retired as a Teaching Assistant at Oconee Primary School located in Oconee County, Georgia.

Upon their retirements, Donald and Montine traveled extensively throughout North America. Montine volunteered for fifteen years at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital working in the gift shop. Her favorite hospital volunteer activity was holding and comforting the babies in the nursery. Her personal interests included music, reading, sewing, baking, and cooking. She enjoyed water aerobics, tennis, and bowling.

Montine maintained an active local Southern Baptist Church membership during her lifetime participating and supporting various church activities. Her recent membership was at Briarwood Baptist Church located in Watkinsville, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 3, 2025 at 11AM at Oconee Chapel, 2370 Hog Mountain Road, Watkinsville, GA. Burial will be held at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 2PM until 4PM at Oconee Chapel, 2370 Hog Mountain Road, Watkinsville, GA. Pallbearers will be Tommy Paige, Marty Paige, Paul Sevilla, Marcuse Mangibin, Jonathan Ondracek and Nathanael Koster. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick James (PJ) Mangibin, Samuelle Mangibin, Kenneth Ondracek, Glenda Ondracek and Teresa Ondracek
