Athens - Montie Wilson Bray, 89, husband of Nellie Reed Bray, died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 2:30PM at Temple Baptist Church with Revs. Paul Downey, Jim Bray and Randy Bray officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, Ga. Pallbearers will be David Bray, Cassidy Bray, Chad Wilkins, Jahn Yen, Marlon Duncan, and Walt Whitaker.
Born in Oskaloosa, IL, he was the son of the late Montie Monroe and Hallie Krutsinger Bray. In addition to his parents, Wilson was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn Bray and siblings: Doris Talbertt, Nate Bray, Wanda Griffith and Darwin Bray. Early in life, Wilson performed as a concert violinist. He retired from Uniroyal Tires as an accountant. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
In addition to his wife survivors include his sons; Jim Bray of Shelby, NC, Randy Bray of Asheville, NC, Allen Reed of Colbert, Ga.; daughters: Sharon Yen of Nicholson, Ga., Denise Pojar of Bettendorf, IA; brother: Harley Bray of Seattle, WA; sisters: Norma Jean Neuman of Akron, OH, Frances Bray of Champaign, IL; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church Missions Fund.
