Montez E. Callahan

Mrs. Montez Callahan, age 76, passed away May 25, 2016, at Gentiva Hospice in Athens Ga.
Montez was born in Buena Vista, GA to the late William Joshua Boddy and Nancy Ella Fowler. She was a graduate of the Associate Nursing Program at Columbus College in Columbus GA and spent most of her career in Columbus as an Oncology Nurse at Doctors Hospital. She spent her last few years in Athens Ga near her daughter, Beverly, where she met her friend and loving companion, William Kudon, who provided her with comfort while battling her illness.
Montez was preceded in death by her son William Joseph Wommack "Little Joe" in 1984.
She is survived by five children, Franklin D. Brown Jr., LaRhonda D. Wood, Kimberly J. Mauger, Maryellen Terrill and Beverly S. Wyatt, fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held June 25, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home on Jimmy Daniel Rd, Bogart GA. Her final resting place will be at Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus GA, at a later date, where she will be place next to her late husband Edgar Gene Callahan.
