Modane Welch

After a long illness, Modane Welch left her earthly body to start her forever life on August 19, 2016. She was born May 30, 1927 in Gainesville, GA to Aaron and Winnie Smith. She was a loving, selfless daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress and loved sewing for her family. She also enjoyed gardening and reading a good mystery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, James Welch and a great-grandson, Griffin Segars. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Scarborough (Jerry), Glenda Sims (Steve); three grandchildren, Mark Scarborough (Kris), Lorie Segars (Shane), and Misty Sims; three great-grandchildren, Bailey Scarborough, Colton and Owen Segars.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens, WEST. Graveside services ill follow at 2:30 PM at Evergreen Memorial Park.
