Ms. Mirriel Ann Brantley Johns, age 64, died peacefully in her home Friday November 23, 2012. She was surrounded by her family and her dog, Eugene.
Our mom was a graduate of Georgia Baptist Nursing College and worked as a R.N. for 40 years. The fact that she loved this work would have surprised a 10 year old Mirriel Ann, who was sure to be a race car driver or a librarian, Mom was a terrible driver and tended to give anything to you that she felt you needed, Thus going to nursing school was a good career choice and she was a skillful and caring nurse who loved her work. She served God and her patients faithfully.
Ms. Johns is the daughter of the late Jack Edward Brantley and Mary Louise Strozier Brantley.
She will be remembered for showing us how to love and accept, laugh through the hard times and remember that "it could always be worse". She is survived by her children, Amanda Johns, Jimmy and Stephanie Johns, Marisa and Alex Tobar and her other daughter, Alicia; her grandchildren Mila, Jack and Evan. Survived by aunt, Alice and Uncle Kenneth and a uncle, Paul and Patsy Strozier and siblings, Jeb and Sylvia Brantley and Pam and Billy Gilbert.
Memorial Service will be Tuesday, November 27, 2012 11:00 am at Green Acres Baptist Church. Family will receive friends at the church , Monday, November 26, 2012 , 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
