Minette (Garrison) Connally

Minette Garrison Connally, wife of the late W.G. Connally of Athens, passed away peacefully in Santa Barbara, CA on October 14th in the presence of her family. An eighty-year resident of Georgia, she moved to California following the death of her husband in 2007 and lived there with her daughter-in-law Janis and son Dan Connally. She is survived also by her granddaughter Rachel Connally and her grandson Noah Connally, as well as her sister Montine Carter of Perry, GA, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. In addition to her family and friends Minette loved flowers, college football and the family dog Bandit. Small in stature, she had a powerful will, a playful sense of humor, an abiding dislike of cats, and a great concern for others. She was a member of East Athens Baptist Church for more than sixty years, and will be remembered by many there. She was a gentle and kind soul who will be missed, and never forgotten. A penny for your thoughts. . Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 1:30 PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel. Interment will follow at Oconee Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday at the funeral home.
